I was in synagogue with my daughter when we found out that there was a live shooter at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. We were in shock -- we cried and shook and held each other while we continued to pray. We prayed that no one would be hurt. We prayed that they would apprehend the murderer. We prayed to return to the moment right before we knew about the shooter, right before our world was shattered.  We have been living with the horrifying reality of the rise in anti-semitism, racism, Islamaphobia, transphobia and white supremacist rhetoric... once again. 

It was out of this moment that I began to understand what I needed to do. And over the last three weeks I have gathered people together, consulted with some of the smartest, most compassionate, generous and committed people that I know. I've asked for their advice and partnership and they have given it freely. We all are so happy to launch We Stand Together. We Stand Together is based on the belief that  regular people can take brave stands against hate. Indeed, we all must. Our first project is in solidarity with the Jewish people. We are taking a stand against anti-semitism by prominently posting a downloadable pdf of a menorah.  Please join us by giving a gift if you can.
