JOIN US IN TAKING A STAND AGAINST HATE THIS CHRISTMAS

by We Stand Together

Regular people taking brave stands against hate.

"WE STAND TOGETHER" IS A NEW WAY TO STAND UP AGAINST HATE!
We are a new initiative of individuals, organizations and community leaders who are committed to taking a stand with those who are targeted by hate, locally and nationally. This Christmas season, in light of the massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, we are taking a first action with the Jewish people against anti-semitism. Please join us, participate, and support our ability to bring this project to communities across the country.

WE STAND TOGETHER HANUKKAH ALLY ACTION
We Stand Together is taking a stand against hate following the massacre at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and the many frightful events of hatred, racism, misogyny and xenophobia. Join communities locally and nationally in ensuring that there is a clear message sent this Christmas season; that all people are welcome, safe and surrounded by a community who supports them and that we will not tolerate hate in our communities.

TO PARTICIPATE
We Stand Together invites every household in our communities to hang a picture of a menorah in a visible window as an emblem of support for Jews, who have faced a sharp upturn in anti-semitic acts and hate speech during the past two years. To participate, download the free Hanukah Ally Action Menorah, print it out, and put it in a visible window during the month of December.

OUR VISION
We envision a community in which each of us is actively engaged in taking a united stand against hate. We believe that our ability to eliminate negative bias, hate speech, and hurtful policies in our communities depends on all people standing together and saying, “We will not allow this here!”

There has been a marked increase in acts of hatred against groups who have been historically subjected to prejudice and discrimination in our country. Many group members, including People of Color, Jews, LGBQTIA+ people, Muslims, refugees and immigrants, women, and others, are being directly impacted by the recent emergence of white supremacist-influenced rhetoric and actions. We Stand Together is committed to supporting those being targeted by hate groups. We know that most people in this country object to this upturn in hateful actions, and we believe that we can rise together to eliminate hate in our communities and our country.

OUR GOAL
We Stand Together provides opportunities for allies to actively demonstrate our commitment to targeted groups as part of community-wide expressions of support and solidarity. Through community-wide Ally Actions, individuals will clearly communicate that hate speech, violence, and hurtful policies are unacceptable. Ally Actions also promote an understanding of the ways that anti-semitism and other forms of oppression (homophobia/heterosexism, racism, sexism, xenophobia) intersect to keep in place policies that promote wealth for the few while subordinating policies that promote equitable living conditions for all.

ALLY ACTIONS
Ally Actions are opportunities for individuals to take concrete action in support of people targeted by hateful speech or actions. Ally Actions are designed to provide people with opportunities to build skills for allyship rooted in courage. Becoming an ally takes practice; courage is a muscle that needs to be developed.

All Ally Actions are done in coordination with advisors and leaders of the group we are supporting (recognizing that every group has many facets that represent distinct perspectives and that all group members may not be in agreement). We Stand Together is committed to work with and be responsive to all targeted groups in respectful and supportive ways.

DONATIONS
75% of donations go directly to We Stand Together to outreach to communities and expand the reach of the Hanukkah Ally Action.
25% of donations go to HIAS or HIAS affiliated organizations. HIAS stands with refugees. Tree of Life Synagogue where 11 people were murdered was a HIAS affiliated synagogue and the reason that the killer gave for targeting this Jewish community.

WHO WE ARE
We are a committed group of leaders who have come together to create We Stand Together. We each are offering our time for free or at greatly reduced cost because of our commitment to eliminate hate in our country.  We are committed to excellence and to ensuring that this campaign goes to every community that needs it.  We will not stop until the message is clear that we will not tolerate hate against anyone in our communities.

OUR FISCAL SPONSOR
We Stand Together is a fiscally sponsored project of Social Good Fund, a 501(c)(3). Social Good Fund's tax identification number is 46-1323531.
